The variety is intended for the malting industry and is valued for properties conducive to obtaining residual extract characteristic of the Czech beer style. The variety was bred at the breeding station in Stupice.

In scientific literature, the variety is used as a typical representative of Czech breeding for laboratory research, in particular for studying stress tolerance to soil salinity. In professional catalogs, it is classified exclusively as a spring crop.
