The Bulle variety is a two-row spring barley. The plant has medium height and an intermediate growth type. The ear is of medium length and covered with a waxy bloom of medium to strong intensity. The tips of the awns are distinguished by strong anthocyanin coloration, and the length of the awns varies from short to medium.
The grain of the variety has a husk and a whitish aleurone layer. The rachilla hair of the caryopsis is long. There are discrepancies in the documentation regarding the seasonal type: it is classified as spring in a number of registries, while some technical descriptions define it as winter.
