The winter barley variety Bursztyn was obtained as a result of breeding work by Polish scientific institutes. It is intended for use in agriculture as a grain crop.

During studies, the variety demonstrated high productivity under both conventional and organic farming systems. Breeding was aimed at creating forms with high resistance to fungal diseases.
