The variety belongs to the two-row barley type and is characterized as mid-season. The grain yield potential is 7.0–8.2 t/ha. Crude protein content is in the range of 11.4–12.0%; a high beta-glucan content in the grain is also noted. The variety is used as a feed crop, in some cases it is suitable for brewing and is used in breeding programs as a parental component.
The plant demonstrates resistance to a number of common grain diseases, including powdery mildew, net blotch, dwarf rust, and rhynchosporium.
