Variety description

10 August 2026

The Corniche variety is a two-row spring barley of medium or short height. The genetic profile of the plant includes the presence of powdery mildew resistance genes Mla12 and M1A6. The variety is characterized by good overall disease resistance and high resistance to lodging.

The plant is of the malting type and demonstrates high malt quality indicators, in particular, a high level of hot water extract. The variety was bred using the traditional breeding method based on crosses of Diamant, 14029/64 and F2 (Emir x Hor 3270 x 46132/68) and was actively used as genetic material for breeding new varieties, such as Optic.
