The Dalma barley variety was bred by breeder István Murányi in the town of Kompolt. Currently, the variety has been excluded from the National Register of Agricultural Plant Varieties of Hungary.
Detailed agronomic and morphological characteristics of the variety are absent in open publications. The variety is mentioned primarily in materials of scientific research and variety trials of the early 2000s in the context of studying susceptibility to barley yellow dwarf virus.
