Dioptric is a spring two-row malting barley variety, characterized by very short stem length. The variety was used in malting production and grain distillation.
In field trials, the variety demonstrated high susceptibility to Ramularia leaf spot. In the genealogy of other varieties, Dioptric is known as one of the parental components, in particular, in the Octavia x Dioptric cross.
The variety is listed in the national registry — its seeds are authorized for sale in this country.
