The spring barley variety Gawrosz is the only representative of its group with a naked grain type. Plant height is approximately 87 cm, and lodging resistance is rated as medium. The plant has good tolerance to low pH soils and has low cultivation requirements.
The grain is characterized by a high protein content (approximately 13.5–14.0%) and a significant amount of beta-glucan; the thousand kernel weight is approximately 46.6 g. The variety is intended for use as fodder; however, due to its properties, it is suitable for the food industry, in particular for the production of groats and flakes.
