The variety is a spring two-row barley. It was obtained by the breeding company Nickerson as a result of crossing (Armelle x Lud) x Luke.
The purpose of the variety is related to the malting industry; in particular, its use has been recorded in Sweden. In scientific research, the variety is often used as a parent component or standard when studying the genetics of yield and adaptation to various cultivation conditions.
In laboratory studies, the variety is characterized by grain quality indicators, such as alpha-amylase activity and diastatic power. It possesses good adaptability according to documents on barley genetics research.
