The variety is a spring malting barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) of the short-stemmed type. The plant is characterized by early heading and good grain set, which, combined with low height and stem characteristics, ensures high resistance to lodging.
The variety possesses pronounced resistance to dwarf leaf rust and powdery mildew; however, infection with ramularia leaf spot has been recorded in phytopathological studies. Due to a complex of agronomically valuable traits, the variety is used in breeding programs to create new short-stature and resistant lines.
