ActiveHordeum vulgare L. · Barley
ULRICH and JOSEF BREUN
10 August 2026
The variety is a six-row hulless barley whose grain has no tough hull and separates naturally during the ripening process. The plant reaches a height of 65–80 cm and is characterized by a long, weak stem with a short upper internode, which may cause the flag leaf to partially cover the ear.
The variety is prone to lodging and possesses non-uniform ripening of individual ears. Due to its nutritional properties, including high protein and starch content, it is traditionally used in cooking and baking. Currently, the variety is maintained as a population and is officially registered for use in Finland.
