The variety belongs to the winter barley type. Its breeding was conducted by specialists at the Fleischmann Rudolf Research Institute in Kompolt, Hungary.

In scientific publications, the variety appears in studies aimed at increasing the winter hardiness of two-row barley varieties. The crop is a subject of pathogen monitoring, in particular the net blotch pathogen Pyrenophora teres.
