The spring barley variety "Koloryt" is officially entered in the state register. In breeding research, it is used as a source of valuable traits for increasing the crop's resistance to major pathogens.

The plant is studied for resistance to powdery mildew Erysiphe graminis and spot blotch pathogens Bipolaris sorokiniana, Drechslera spp. Detailed morphological characteristics and the pedigree of the variety are not provided in open sources.
