The variety belongs to winter multi-row barley types and is characterized by medium heading and maturity dates. Mirabelle plants are medium-height and have a moderate susceptibility to lodging.
The variety is resistant to Barley yellow mosaic virus (BaYMV). Susceptibility levels to powdery mildew, net blotch, scald, ramularia leaf spot, and leaf rust have also been recorded. The grain is used as a feed crop.
