The variety is a winter six-row (subsp. hexastichon) barley intended for feed purposes. During its period of active distribution, the variety demonstrated good adaptability and responsiveness to the application of mineral fertilizers; however, high nitrogen doses led to a risk of lodging and susceptibility to diseases.
The plant possessed good winter hardiness. Over time, the variety was excluded from widespread use due to a lack of resistance to net blotch (Helminthosporium teres) and susceptibility to damage by the saddle gall midge (Haplodiplosis marginata).
