The variety belongs to the group of spring two-row barleys. It is characterized by good grain modification indicators and high enzymatic activity, which makes it valuable for malting production. In terms of its morphological characteristics and level of resistance, the variety is close to the Eclat variety, while differing by having larger seeds.
Genetic studies note that the variety carries the Sd2H allele associated with beta-amylase quality, which was inherited from the Balder variety. Mosane is a historical breeding material from the mid-20th century and is not used in modern commercial production.
