Pionier spring barley is a mid-season variety with a growing season of 69 to 82 days. The thousand kernel weight is 46–57 grams, and the yield reaches 6.21 t/ha. The variety is approved for use in the Central Black Earth and Middle Volga regions of the Russian Federation.
Pionier winter barley is presented in European descriptive variety lists. In the Czech Republic, it is registered as a malting barley possessing an established level of proteolytic, amylolytic, and cytolytic enzymatic activity.
