Piroline is a two-row barley with white grain and coarse awns. The plant possesses a strong stem, which ensures lodging resistance, and belongs to the spring maturity type.
The variety has moderate resistance to barley yellow dwarf virus and powdery mildew, but is susceptible to loose smut. Due to its quality characteristics, the variety was historically used in the malting industry.
