The Prestige variety is a spring barley used for malting purposes. It is widely represented in international agricultural plant catalogs and EU variety registers.
In the seed market, there is confusion associated with the homonymous name "Prestige," under which ornamental foxtail barley (Hordeum jubatum) is sold. This plant, with a height of 40–60 cm and ornamental spikes, is not an agricultural variety and is intended exclusively for landscape design.
