The variety was obtained as a result of crossing the varieties Etna and Meltan. In research studies, the resistance of breeding lines derived from this variety to the pathogen Ramularia collo-cygni was noted.

This variety was used as a parental form in breeding programs, including in combinations with the variety Otira. Detailed agronomic characteristics, such as plant height, grain quality indicators, and maturity group, are not recorded in open publications.
