The Resana variety is distinguished by early development and outpaces other varieties in growth rates and phenology. Active water consumption by the variety under moisture deficit conditions has been noted.

The variety has become widespread in Spain, a number of North African countries, and the Middle East. It has been used as a cover crop in olive groves.
