The variety possesses high grain yield. It is characterized by the absence or very weak tendency to lodging, as well as low susceptibility to stem and ear breaking when left standing.

The plant possesses resistance to cereal cyst nematode, high resistance to powdery mildew, and low susceptibility to leaf spot. Traditionally, the variety was classified as spring barley suitable for use as feed or for malting purposes.
