The variety «Ростенцій» (Rostentsyi) is a spring barley. It belongs to mid-season varieties, with a maturation period of 86–94 days, which is 2–3 days earlier than existing standards.
The variety is intended for use in the brewing industry. The protein content in the grain is about 11.3%, and the extract content varies within 79–81%.
This variety is used in scientific research for studying genetic diversity, identification using protein markers, and evaluating resistance to fungal diseases, in particular, to the powdery mildew pathogen.
