The Sewa variety was included in the official Danish variety lists in 1983 and was actively mentioned in agronomic reports of that period. In modern agricultural practice, it is most likely not in use.
In the literature of that time, the variety was considered in the context of studying resistance to the powdery mildew pathogen Erysiphe graminis f. sp. hordei, noting specific resistance profiles to pathogens, including virulence combinations Ri and We. The variety also underwent comparative yield trials together with other varieties of its time.
