The Smooth variety is a six-row winter barley hybrid. It appears in specialized scientific publications and field trials, however, information regarding its official registration as a commercial variety with a full agronomic description is absent from open sources.
The term smooth in barley breeding is often used to designate a morphological trait — the absence of barbs on the awn. Because of this, there is a possibility that the name may be mistaken for a variety name in the context of describing the characteristics of other lines.
