The spring barley variety TORUP belongs to the crop Hordeum vulgare. In agricultural literature, it is classified as a variety of Danish selection and appears in lists of cultivated varieties.

During research conducted in the late 90s, the TORUP variety was examined in the study of plant susceptibility to leaf spot caused by the fungal pathogen Ramularia collo-cygni.
