ULRICH and JOSEF BREUN
10 August 2026
The Yrjar variety was obtained as a result of crossing Jarle and Varde. It belongs to the group of early-maturing varieties and demonstrates higher yield compared to the parental form Varde.
The plant possesses resistance to pre-harvest sprouting and improved agronomic characteristics for the conditions of central Norway. During breeding research, the variety was also considered as a subject for studying adaptation to acidic soils, and the grain protein content in a number of trials was about 7.56%.
