The variety is a hybrid of Citrus clementina hort. ex Tanaka and Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck. In specialized publications, it is classified as a mandarin possessing pigmented red flesh.
The plant was created within the framework of a breeding program aimed at obtaining new types of citrus. The variety is intended for commercial use as an innovative product supplementing existing types of red-fleshed citrus.
