Vigorous, upright, densely branched deciduous shrub about 3 meters tall and 1.8–2 meters wide. Features glossy dark green foliage.
Flowers are large, solitary, flat-shaped, colored pink-red with a deep red center. The plant is sterile, which ensures abundant and prolonged flowering from June to August or September.
Possesses winter hardiness comparable to Hibiscus syriacus (down to -15°C and lower), resistant to urban conditions. Used as an ornamental plant for specimen plantings, mixed borders, and container cultivation.
