Variety description

A key feature of the variety is the glossy dark burgundy, almost black, stems with long internodes. The shrub is compact and upright, reaching 90–120 cm in height and 90–150 cm in width. The color of the inflorescences changes from pink to blue depending on the soil pH level.

The variety «Abracadabra Star» has lacecap inflorescences that change color from pink-white to deep pink. The variety «Abracadabra Orb» has globose inflorescences that change color from peach-green to deep pink. The plant is winter hardy in USDA zones 5–9.

The hydrangea demonstrates high resistance to root rot, but shows weak resistance to powdery mildew and leaf spot. It is intended for landscape design and container cultivation; the inflorescences are suitable for cutting.
