Variety description

An adult plant usually reaches a height of 1.5 meters, in some cases up to 2 meters. The variety belongs to the group with corymbose ("lacecap") inflorescences, consisting of fertile flowers in the center and sterile flowers at the edges.

Flower color varies from pink to blue or violet depending on the soil pH level. The plant blooms from June to September, with a peak in July–August. The variety is winter hardy, prefers semi-shaded locations and moist, fertile, well-drained soil.

In literature, the variety is often identified with the varieties «Mariesii Perfecta» and «Mousmée».
