The series plants are distinguished by a compact, rounded bush shape, reaching a height of 1–1.5 meters, and less than 1 meter in container cultivation. Inflorescences are represented by both globular and lacecap forms, with many varieties featuring bicolor petals and dark, sometimes bronze-chocolate young foliage.
Flowering occurs on the previous year's shoots in the second half of summer, from July to September. The plants possess strong, upright shoots resistant to lodging. Winter hardiness is estimated in the range of -15°C to -18°C, which requires mandatory covering in harsh winter conditions.
