The plant is a spherical shrub 90–100 cm in height and about 100 cm in diameter, although data on larger specimens exist. Leaves are dark green, glossy, elliptical, with a serrated edge. Large spherical inflorescences reach 25 cm in diameter and consist of flowers with a wavy edge.

At the beginning of flowering, the flower color is creamy pistachio. On acidic soils, it changes to lilac-blue and dark blue tones, and on neutral or slightly alkaline soils to pink-purple. The variety is moisture-loving, prefers partial shade, and requires winter covering with frost resistance down to -25°C...-29°C.

Used for solitary and group plantings, as well as for growing in containers on terraces and balconies.
