The plant is a highly branched shrub with large ovate serrated leaves, which acquire a reddish hue in the sun. The variety belongs to the group of hydrangeas with flat spherical inflorescences.

This species is deciduous and requires planting in wind-protected, semi-shaded areas. It is recommended to avoid regular pruning, as it may hinder flowering; rejuvenating pruning should be carried out no more than once every 5–10 years.
