The Hydrangea macrophylla 'Helsinki' variety is characterized by compact bush dimensions, the height of which is 20–30 cm. The flowers are simple, colored in a blue-light violet shade 092B, and the inflorescences have a hemispherical shape.

The plant's leaves have an elliptical or oval shape with a serrated edge. In some catalogs, the status 'withdrawn by the breeder' is found, which may indicate limited distribution of the variety or the cessation of its production.
