The Allrico variety is a representative of the species Hypericum × inodorum, also known as Hypericum × elatum. The plant is an ornamental semi-evergreen or deciduous shrub with a height of 80 to 150 cm.

Distinctive features of the species are yellow flowers, the flowering period of which usually falls between May and July, as well as the appearance of bright fruit berries that remain on the shoots until autumn.
