The variety belongs to decorative shrub forms of hybrid origin. Unlike Hypericum perforatum, it is not used for medical purposes and is valued in landscape design for its decorative fruits.
The plant prefers sunny locations and well-drained soils. In unfavorable conditions with excessive moisture, the variety can be susceptible to rust infection.
