Variety description

The ‘Ilexfarrowtracey’ cultivar is a compact, dense, broadly rounded shrub, 60–90 cm in height and width. The foliage is evergreen, dense, and dark green; the leaves are oval, glossy, and thornless.
The plant is female and, in the presence of a pollinator, produces small black drupe fruits that persist through the winter. The cultivar has cold hardiness down to -25°C (USDA zones 5–9) and resistance to common diseases and pests.
Sunny sites or partial shade are preferred for cultivation, as well as moist, acidic, well-drained soils; the plant tolerates neutral and alkaline soils poorly. The crop responds well to pruning and is used for creating borders, hedges, and container plantings.
