The shrub reaches a height and width of 60–90 cm. The foliage densely covers the plant down to the ground without becoming bare at the base. The variety is female, blooms with small white flowers, and requires the presence of a male pollinator plant for fruiting.
The plant is slow-growing and resistant to diseases, pests, and winter damage. It prefers moist acidic soils and tolerates both shade and sun well. It is used in landscape design to create hedges, borders, and for container gardening as an alternative to boxwood.
Due to its dense spherical shape and strong branches, the variety is resistant to lodging.
