The variety is the result of breeding aimed at developing a compact plant with abundant flowering. The breeding process involved crossing a low-growing specimen with a form possessing pink flowers.

The plant has simple orange flowers and very short stature. As a representative of the species Impatiens walleriana, the variety is used in ornamental landscaping and requires a warm climate, which is why it is cultivated as an annual in temperate latitudes.
