The variety belongs to the Impatiens hawkeri hybrid group. In agronomic publications and materials regarding plant variety rights, it is often cited as a control sample when evaluating new breeding achievements.

The plant possesses characteristics typical of commercial New Guinea impatiens hybrids of its time. When cultivated, the variety responds to pinching: manual removal of shoot tips affects branching processes and the reproductive development of the plant.
