The Dutch iris is a bulbous crop used in landscaping and for cut flowers. The flowers are colored in brown-bronze-violet and golden-yellow tones, where the upper petals are chocolate-purple and the lower ones are bronze-yellow with stripes. The plant reaches a height of 50–80 cm, blooms in May–June and requires good drainage.
The ensata (Japanese) iris is a rhizomatous perennial for ornamental gardening and pond decoration. The flowers are large, up to 20 cm in diameter, purple in color with a white throat and a yellow signal. The plant height reaches 90–100 cm. The variety is moisture-loving, resistant to diseases, but requires protection from excess moisture in winter.
