The variety originates from the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in France and belongs to genetic group 2–1. It is a traditional local form that is widely used as source genetic material for developing new varieties, including the Ferjean variety.
The plant has a clustered fruiting type. The nuts of the variety are of medium size. The variety often appears in studies dedicated to investigating the resistance of various walnut genotypes to bacterial blight.
