The Banda variety is mentioned in the documentation of the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV) as an example variety. It is used in trials to evaluate the intensity of anthocyanin coloration on the upper side of the leaf, where a medium degree of expression is established for this variety.
