The Leonardo variety originated as a natural mutation of the Bromo variety. The plant is a succulent with glossy dark green leaves and a compact habit, reaching a height of about 30 cm.

The main feature of the variety is the double purple-pink flowers, gathered in dense corymbose inflorescences. Flowering occurs in the winter period and early spring, as the variety is a short-day crop.
