The variety is characterized by the presence of single non-double red flowers and medium growth rates typical of pot plants in this group. The plant is well adapted for cultivation in standard greenhouse conditions using ebb-and-flow irrigation systems.
In scientific literature, the variety is used as a model organism in studies of CAM-metabolism physiology, research on reproductive barriers during interspecific hybridization within the genus Kalanchoe, and in work on genetic modification to obtain compact plant forms.
