The variety Alboreto (index 84-08 RZ) is a Batavia type leaf lettuce for cultivation in baby leaf format. The plant has an upright habit, forms narrow leaves with a glossy surface, pronounced blistering, and weak undulation at the edge. The leaf color is intense, dark purple.
The variety is early-maturing and high-yielding. It possesses high resistance to downy mildew (races Bl:16–36EU or Bl:29–41EU) and lettuce aphid (race Nr:0). It is intended for cultivation in open and protected ground, including hydroponic systems, and is used for fresh market and processing.
