Berruguete is an Iceberg type variety forming large, heavy heads with good internal structure and high uniformity. The plant is characterized by balanced development and slow bolting, which allows it to be grown in the spring, summer, and autumn periods. Planting density ranges from 55,000 to 85,000 plants per hectare.
The variety possesses high resistance to powdery mildew (races Bl:29–41EU / 7–10US) and currant-lettuce aphid (Nr:0), as well as intermediate resistance to Fusarium wilt (Fol:4). The produce is suitable for both fresh market sale and industrial processing.
