The variety is mid-early, the period from emergence to harvest is 50–65 days when sown in the open field and 40–45 days via transplants. The plant forms a dense closed head of large, rounded, blistered leaves of medium thickness.
The leaf color is bicolored: the base is apple-green with contrasting copper-red or pinkish edges, the intensity of which increases in cool weather. The leaves are tender, juicy, and crisp, with good taste.
The variety is considered traditional and is suitable for fresh consumption, as well as an ornamental plant. It possesses increased resistance to bolting and tolerates summer heat better than many other head-forming types.
