Black Seeded Simpson is an early-maturing variety; the period from germination to technical maturity is 35 to 60 days. The plant forms a loose rosette 15–30 cm tall. Large ruffled leaves have a light-green color and are characterized by tenderness, juiciness, and the absence of bitterness.
The variety belongs to the cut-and-come-again type, which allows for the gradual cutting of outer leaves for fresh consumption, ensuring the further growth of the plant. The variety is suitable for cultivation in open field and protected cultivation, as well as in containers and hydroponics.
The plant possesses resistance to diseases, tolerance to heat and drought, and is capable of withstanding light frosts. It has an upright habit; the leaves have a mild taste with a slight sweetish undertone.
